Aero tandem build up

Sram Rival 1×11 brake shifters offered a good option for this build. Cabling to the rear brake and derailleur is run in ducting on the outside of the frame for this prototype but will all be internal routed on next builds.

Some sunshine in the Highlands is too precious to miss so I moved to working in the garden for the warmth and the flowers while adding the components.

Alloy aero bars for stoker and captain. The stoker handlebar post gives a lot of variation of height and reach using different bar stems to achieve the right position for the stoker. If a fixed custom fit to the stoker is wanted, the post can be cut and glued in place for a specific fit.

For this prototype, a Shimano 105 derailleur and 1×11 drivetrain is being used with alloy crankset but all will be upgraded to wireless derailleur and carbon components for a final version if the prototype rides well.

The completed first build ready for test rides. Aero carbon frame, 203mm disc rotors, post mount disc brakes, integrated seat masts, 1×11 drivetrain.
